Commented on Putin’s decision to recognize the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass in London. According to UNIAN, British Foreign Secretary Elizabeth Truss called this Russia’s blatant disregard for its obligations under the Minsk agreements:
“This move… signals the end of the Minsk process.”
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called the Kremlin’s decision “an act of aggression against Ukraine” in a statement.
“The decision to recognize the self-proclaimed “republics” is a final rejection of dialogue and a gross violation of international law. This is an act of aggression against Ukraine, which must be unequivocally answered in the form of immediate sanctions. This is the only language that Putin understands. I call for the urgent convening of a European Council on this matter.”
