Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed with the proposal to involve volunteers in the fighting in Ukraine.
According to him, if there are people who want to help those living in the Donbas, and for free, then the state should help them get to the war zone.
“If you see that there are people who want, on a voluntary basis, especially not for money, to come and help people living in the Donbass, well, well, you need to meet them halfway and help them move to the war zone” – Putin said at a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council.
According to him, “Western sponsors” of Ukraine do not hide the mobilization of mercenaries to participate in the conflict.
“They do it openly, disregarding all norms of international law,” Putin said.
