Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili did not accept the invitation of Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk to visit the city of Bucha near Kiev. He announced this on Facebook, RBC reports.
Papuashvili considered the invitation inappropriate due to accusations from the Ukrainian authorities against Tbilisi. “The support and partnership of our countries really do not deserve attempts by high-ranking officials of Ukraine to separate the people of Georgia from power, demands to open a second front, unfounded diplomatic demarches, unfounded accusations of smuggling or accusations of trying to warm their hands to the misfortune of the Ukrainian people. As it was in the previous address of my colleague,” the chairman of the parliament explained.
According to him, Kyiv must share the “strong support” from the Georgian people and authorities. Papuashvili stressed that Tbilisi uses all international platforms for the legal and political assessment of Russia’s actions.
