Kazakhstan plans to hold a military parade on Victory Day this year

The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan does not plan to hold a military parade this year dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day, which is celebrated on May 7, and Victory Day on May 9. This was reported by the press service of the ministry, reports TASS.

“In 2022, a military parade dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 is not planned. At the same time, military-patriotic events are planned. A separate block is made up of events to honor the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the message says.

It was noted that in total, about 50 different events are planned by the Ministry of Defense for these dates, which will be held in all regions of the country.

In 2021 and 2020, Kazakhstan also did not hold a military parade in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day and Victory Day due to the current epidemic situation amid the spread of coronavirus. At the same time, commemorative events were organized in the military garrisons. Representatives of the Ministry of Defense and military authorities congratulated veterans of the Great Patriotic War at their place of residence.
