Coronavirus in Georgia: statistics April 17

In Georgia, 115 new cases of coronavirus were detected per day. Thus, the total number of people infected since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 1,653,044.

The distribution of new cases of Covid-19 by regions of Georgia is as follows:

  • Kakheti – 8;

  • Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti – 5;

  • Samtskhe-Javakheti – 10;
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 0.

Over the past 24 hours, 272 patients have recovered from coronavirus. In total, 1,633,956 people have already been ill with Covid-19 in Georgia. Three people have died from complications caused by the coronavirus in the last 24 hours. Currently, a total of 16,792 deaths from Covid-19 have been recorded.

  • Active cases to date – 2,770;
  • 340 people are undergoing treatment in a hospital under the supervision of doctors;
  • There are 75 people in intensive care units;
  • 1,930 people are being treated at home;

Over the past 24 hours, 8,018 tests have been carried out. Including 6,289 antigen tests and 1,729 PCR tests (PCR – polymerization chain reaction). The daily positive response rate is 1.43%. The indicator for the last 14 days is 1.49%.
