Multiple nations evacuating their citizens from Iran and Israel

Several countries have launched evacuation operations for their citizens from both Iran and Israel due to escalating tensions.

Bulgaria closed its embassy in Tehran and evacuated its diplomatic staff and their families through Azerbaijani territory. Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov announced that the embassy would continue operating from Baku.

Hungary has also temporarily relocated its embassy from Iran to Baku. Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stated that embassy staff and their family members had left Iran.

China has evacuated over 1,600 citizens from Iran and hundreds more from Israel. According to the spokesperson of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country remains in contact with Iran, Israel, Egypt, and Oman. The spokesperson reiterated China’s call—especially to Israel—for an immediate ceasefire.

The Chinese Embassy in Iran has urged its citizens to leave the country via land routes and warned of heavy congestion at border crossings with Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. The embassy has also advised Chinese nationals to consider leaving Iran through Armenia, Turkey, or Iraq.

As mutual strikes between Israel and Iran continue, countries including India, Germany, Czechia, Slovakia, Greece, the United States, Australia, Pakistan, and Japan have also begun evacuating their nationals in recent days.
