Georgian Dream creates a women’s party organization

“Georgian Dream” creates a women’s party organization. Irakli Kobakhidze, chairman of the party in power, informed the public about this.

“Due to various circumstances in the elections to local governments, our party was able to nominate only three women candidates out of 64 candidates for mayor, and we nominated candidates for city assemblies only within the framework of the electoral quota we introduced. Surely everyone will agree that this volume does not correspond to the objective picture that exists in our society today, and women deserve much more representation in high positions.

The creation of a women’s organization will contribute to the career growth of women members of our team and will give them the opportunity to be more successful both in party structures and in public service,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.

According to the chairman of the party, organizational meetings will be held in all regions of Georgia by the end of next week to create a women’s organization.

“We believe that the creation of a women’s organization of the ruling party will contribute to the activation of the role of women not only in party political life, but will also create new opportunities for protecting the rights and interests of women in society,” he added.
