Georgia has appointed a new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Armenia, the press service of the Georgian Government.
Former rector of the Tbilisi State University Giorgi Sharvashidze was appointed Georgia’s new ambassador to Armenia.
Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili has already met with the diplomat and congratulated him on his appointment, wishing him success in his work.
Giorgi Sharvashidze also held various positions in the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, including deputy minster. In 2016-2022, he was the rector of Tbilisi State University.
