Erdogan ridiculed call to hold debate with Kılıçdaroğlu

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan rejected the proposal of the united opposition candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to hold a televised debate, noting that they had nothing to talk about. He stated this in an interview with CNN Türk and Kanal D.

On Thursday, Kılıçdaroglu called the incumbent head of the republic to a television debate to “prove” his alleged “collaboration with terrorists.” Erdogan said that if Kılıçdaroğlu fails to prove his collaboration with terrorists, then he is a “dishonest person”. Kılıçdaroglu headed the Department of Social Insurance in the 90s of the XX century.

Incumbent Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan won 49.52% of the vote in the first round of the presidential elections, his rival from the seven opposition parties, Kemal Kılıçdaroglu – 44.88%. The second round of presidential elections is scheduled for May 28.
