Russian, Chinese warships conduct joint drills in Pacific

Russian and Chinese warships have carried out anti-submarine firing exercises in the northwestern Pacific Ocean as part of a joint patrol in the Asia-Pacific region, Russian Defence Ministry reported on Monday (October 14), Reuters reports.

The Interfax agency reported, citing the press service of the Russian Pacific Fleet, that Russian and Chinese Navy ships have begun joint patrols after participating in the Beibu/Interaction 2024 naval exercises in September.

Russia and China practised missile and artillery firing in September as part of Ocean-2024 naval drills, which Russian President Vladimir Putin cast as a bid to counter the United States in the Pacific.
