Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during his visit to Tehran. The President of Iran noted that they respect the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and added that the right to sovereignty of any country should not be ignored.
He repeated the position of the Iranian side that the presence of other countries in the region is not in favor of the countries of the region and that the latter should solve the existing problems.
“We are sure that by cooperating with each other we can solve security and related issues. This is the fundamental policy of the IRI Government, which we have always emphasized,” the IRI President said.
Mustafaev stated that “they have no territorial claims against any country”. “The problems of the region should be solved through negotiations between the countries of the region,” said the Azerbaijani official and invited Pezeshkian to participate in COP29.
Development issues of bilateral cooperation were also discussed.
