Two soldiers of the Iranian army were killed in an Israeli attack on Iranian territory, Mehr reports.
Early Saturday morning in the Iranian capital Tehran, air defense forces in Tehran province were mobilized to counter enemy targets.
According to a spokesperson for Tehran province’s air defense public relations department, the sound heard in Tehran was linked to the activation of air defense in three locations outside Tehran.
Shortly afterward, it became known that Israeli forces had launched an attack on Iranian territory.
Iranian air defense forces issued a statement noting, “Despite previous warnings from Islamic Republic officials for the illegal Zionist regime to avoid any reckless actions, the Tel Aviv regime attacked several military sites in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam on Saturday morning, escalating tensions.”
The statement emphasized that Israel’s attack was successfully intercepted by the country’s integrated air defense system and highlighted that “Zionist aggression caused limited damage to several sites.”
Israel claimed it achieved its objectives in the attack on Iran and cautioned Tehran against retaliatory actions.
