EU mission will be additional deterrent for possible Azerbaijani aggression: Aleksanyan

Can the EU observation mission prevent further actions of Azerbaijan? In the NA briefing, this question was asked to ruling ‘Civil Contract’ faction deputies.

“Yes, Azerbaijan should leave this territory, because the territorial integrity of Armenia is not subject to negotiation. That mission, in our opinion, will contribute to stabilization and will be an additional deterrent for possible Azerbaijani aggression,” said Vahagn Aleksanyan, deputy of the ‘Civil Contract’ faction.

It is not known exactly when the mission will be deployed.

“It is under discussion, but it should happen in October. We expect until the end of the month,” said Hripsime Grigoryan, deputy of the ‘Civil Contract’ faction.

Artur Hovhannisyan, Secretary of the ‘Civil Contract’ faction, also mentioned that the demand for the withdrawal of troops is also one of the main emphasis of international partners.

“Recently there was a demand from the French and American sides for the withdrawal of troops. Why this is not recorded in this statement is because there are mechanisms recorded that should lead to this. And this is recorded in a number of other statements,” he said.
