There are no significant problems in relations between Turkey and Russia: Peskov

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan noted that relations between the two countries are developing in all areas. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on December 12.

“In general, there are some issues, but there are no significant problems between us,” RIA Novosti quoted Peskov as saying.

The presidential press secretary also said that Turkey is waiting for the timely commissioning of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant, the launch of the first reactor of which is scheduled for 2026.

In addition, during the meeting, Putin and Erdogan agreed that the Europeans’ attempts to seize Russian assets threaten to break the foundations of the international financial system. At the same time, both leaders agreed that the multifaceted and diversified relations between Russia and Turkey make it possible to successfully overcome sanctions, Peskov added.
