The US State Department has made adjustments to the transcript of its briefing regarding the statements of Secretary of State Marco Rubio. This was found out by RIA Novosti on February 13.
It is clarified that Rubio’s statement about a potential trip to Russia, which could take place as part of his European tour, has been changed.
Before leaving for the tour, Rubio said that Russia was not part of his plans for the current trip.
“Not this time,” the Secretary of State made it clear.
Later, the State Department published an updated version of his words, according to which Rubio does not intend to visit Russia this week.
“I’m not going to Russia this week, no,” the corrected version says.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on February 6 that a new round of negotiations on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine would take place in the near future. The exact date has not yet been announced.
On the same day, the Kremlin’s official representative announced the continuation of work on Ukraine after the talks in Abu Dhabi. Peskov added that representatives of the delegations had been working in the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for two days.
On February 5, US President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy Stephen Witkoff announced plans to continue consultations on the Ukrainian issue in the coming weeks. He also noted that Washington and Moscow have reached an agreement to start a military dialogue under the leadership of General Alex Grinkevich, commander of the US European Command.
