Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky met in The Hague. The talks lasted more than 40 minutes. The Ukrainian president described the conversation with the head of the White House as meaningful.
“We discussed the most important issues. We appreciate Washington’s attention and willingness to contribute to peace,” Zelensky noted.
Later, at a press conference with reporters, Trump informed that he did not discuss the ceasefire issue with Zelensky.
“I just wanted to know how he was. I was glad to see him, it was a great meeting. It’s the right time to stop the war,” Donald Trump added. According to him, Zelensky wants the war to end.
The US president expressed confidence that Vladimir Putin also seeks to resolve the conflict. He hopes to talk to the Russian president in the near future.
