Russia is preparing a letter to Armenia, in which it notes the discrepancies between the norms of its rapprochement with the European Union (EU) and the rules of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This was announced by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk—and in response to a question from TASS.
“I am going to sign a letter to my colleague Mher Herbertovich [i.e. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan] stating that in our opinion, these actions [i.e. the norms of rapprochement with the EU] go against the norms of the Eurasian Economic Union,” Overchuk said.
“Accordingly, we will discuss the matter of applying appropriate measures,” added the Russian deputy PM.
