Long-range missile support from US ‘depends on Trump’s decision’, Zelenskiy says

Reuters. Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Thursday (October 2) it was up to his American counterpart Donald Trump to decide on whether to provide long-range missiles to the war-torn country.

The United States is considering a Ukrainian request to obtain Tomahawks, which have a range of 2,500 km (1,550 miles) – easily enough to hit Moscow and most of European Russia if fired from Ukraine.

Zelenskiy made the statement upon his arrival at the European Political Community in Copenhagen.

There, he is expected to meet with European leaders in Copenhagen, according to Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.

Zelenskiy was greeted by Frederiksen and the two leaders shook hands.

The Ukrainian leader is expected to address the gathering of some 50 heads of state and government and European Union leaders, and will also hold a press conference with Frederiksen, the Danish government said.
