U.S. Special Envoy John Coale mentioned preparations for a possible visit of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to the United States of America. John Coale made the relevant statement after negotiations with the Belarusian head of state in Minsk on 19 March, BelTA has learned.
John Coale said: “We’ve discussed President Lukashenko’s possible trip to the USA and we will work on organizing it.”
He added that President Donald Trump talks about President Lukashenko all the time and describes him as his very good friend and a respected world leader.
He also said Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of the United States of America Donald Trump may have a personal contact soon. Taking into account the broad Belarusian-American agenda, the USA’s representative was asked whether a direct bilateral contact between Aleksandr Lukashenko and Donald Trump should be expected in the near future either as a personal meeting or a phone call.
“Yes,” John Coale gave an affirmative answer.
